The USD/VND exchange rate recorded strong fluctuations in today trading session. The central rate announced by the State Bank of Vietnam is 24,500 VND/USD, up 50 VND from yesterday.
In the free market, the USD/VND rate is traded around 25,200-25,300 VND/USD. USD appreciation pressure comes from end-of-quarter import demand.
Experts believe the exchange rate will continue to fluctuate in the short term but the long-term trend remains stable thanks to abundant forex reserves.
